Animal Market

Today we went to the market. It was a special day because they had many animals. We bought two American hens and two baby geese. One of the hens died. The other is sad and refuses to eat. At Ruxandra's suggestion, Edward brought one of our chickens to keep it company. The two geese are under Petunia, our hen, who was already raising chicks and ducks. Everyone is learning how to be chicken. The geese spend a lot their time in the water dish, but seem happy otherwise. I really wanted a parrot, but Ruxandra and grandma did not buy me one. They said it would be unhappy in a small cage.

For the summer, I wanted to go to California to see my mother and brother. At first mother said I could go if I was interested in the summer school Danny was joining. I don't think she expected me to say "Yes!", but I did. So, she changed her mind and said I was not allowed to come because she says she is working all summer and has no time for me.

Heute war ich in den Markt. Wir kaufen zwei wilde Hühner und zwei Gänseküken. Sie sind sehr schön. Ich wollte nach Kalifornia zu meine Mutter gehe und war sehr enttäuscht als ich horte dass ich nicht kann.

My pig-like day

 I ate like a pig, and grandma is cross. I made some small and ugly crepes. They were very tasty.  Then grandma made fries and I ate nearly all of them. I did give a selected few to grandpa -- intentionally -- without pepper,  and he said they were not good. I liked them very much myself with or without the condiments. Grandma was unhappy I kept contriving to eat as much as possible. I hope she will take me to tennis. I did go to tennis even though it was rainy. After awhile all the children left. I stayed and played with the teacher. When I called grandma, she came to pick me up and we went to the market. I ate a donut there. When we got home, grandpa wanted medicine. His lungs get clogged because he spends too much time in the horizontal position. When we put him on the armchair, he requires to be put back to bed only 2-3 minutes later. Mishaps

  I fought for ice-cream.  Grandpa loves ice-cream. Since he is bed, and cannot enjoy much beyond eating, grandma buys it for him, and also tries to cook what he likes. This means I've been eating lots of ice-cream, too, and plenty of fried chicken. From the first box, I was greedy and ate 7 small ice-creams. Grandma, grandpa and I are in Chizatau with the goats and Ruxandra and Edward are in Lugoj. When Edward came to visit I became very angry when he tried to eat his second ice-cream and swore I've only had one. He had dropped haft of his first on the floor, and still felt entitled to more. He took another one independent of my protests, and dropped it again, and then a third. At last Ruxandra had to intervene to stop the fight. He was wasting them. I broke the glass from the door with a brick. Even though I am 11, I still throw pretty bad temper tantrums. Pacala, God and the origin bugs on Earth: stories from school

When I came home from school, I searched for and found Piki, our tortoise, again. It has grown a whole ring since she's been free. I think it eats grains and chicken poop, which is why I keep finding her in the chicken's enclosure. She pooped in my hand and it was very yucky! She also bit me. I don't think she likes being found and would rather be free. Then I had homework in Romanian. I had to do one more test. It had been a text about Pacala who sold his cow to a tree. The poem says it interpreted the wind as the tree bargaining -- Pacala first asks for 70 lei, then 40 lei, and ultimately leaves the cow there without forcing the tree to pay. Grandma says he simply left the cow by the oak tree because Pacala was too lazy to take the cow to the market and told his mother he sold it for nothing to cover himself.
